How do you employ emotional design when illustrating food? And will people be more willing to eat it if they think it looks cute?
Super fun class on illustration and emotional design led by wonderful Andreas Berg, one of my professors in illustration at the academy. I did a selection of quite kawaii sushi buddies — of course.
I wanted each of the elements of a perfect sushi meal to be characters of sorts and I therefore tried to illustrate them with care, paired with some hand-drawn typography. I wanted them to be friends! Buddies! That you would invevitably want to eat. Hm, the world is cruel. But cute?
