Essay and editorials — Monocle Book of the Nordics
✏️ What is the current temperature on culture and politics in the Nordics and how can you document the countries in the best possible way? Published by Thames & Hudson, this new title "turns its focus to Europe’s northernmost reaches. Looking beyond the frozen expanses, thick forests and towering mountains, it uncovers the folks and firms that help the region rank highly in everything from art and architecture to eating well and quality of life."

It’s been ten years since I worked full-time at Monocle in London — starting up M24 (Monocle’s 24-hour radio station) with some truly incredible (and insanely talented) people. We literally worked around the clock and it was the most intense and rewarding time.
✏️ I left London to pursue an MA in design, but have been very fortunate to be able to continue to contribute to this amazing editorial project over the years.
🏔 The Monocle Book of the Nordics was just released. Published by Thames & Hudson, this new title "turns its focus to Europe’s northernmost reaches. Looking beyond the frozen expanses, thick forests and towering mountains, it uncovers the folks and firms that help the region rank highly in everything from art and architecture to eating well and quality of life."
🌳 I’ve written a few pieces that I’m truly excited about, including a personal essay about my beloved Oslo, the city where I grew up; a piece on Katla (hands-down one of my absolute favorite restaurants in the city); and a residence story from my new hometown of Nesodden — where the scientist Cathrine Brekke and her ceramicists husband Nikolai live on a house on pillars by architects Sanden Hodnekvam.
